Hair Care During The Winter Months – Top Tips from ZIGZAG Hair Studios, Towcester
The cold winter months can play havoc on your hair so now is the time to really look after your hair.
The combination of indoor heating and cold weather can result in dry hair that will split and break… but help is at hand with expert advice from the team at ZIGZAG Hair Studios.
Follow our Top Tips For Healthy Winter Hair and you’ll start seeing an improvement in the condition of your hair.
TIP 1: Have an in-salon deep conditioning treatment once a week
Dry and brittle hair needs an injection of moisture. You can buy some good conditioners over the counter, but if you’re looking for longer-lasting results, have an in-salon treatment such as our OLAPLEX deep conditioning treatment or visit our fabulous Serum Bar with potions to rejuvenate tired hair.
TIP 2: Do not wash your hair too often
Keep your hair washing to a minimum. Wash your hair two or three times a week rather than every day. If you can bear it, wash your hair in cool water rather than hot water as the heat will dry out your hair.
TIP 3: Reduce the use of heating appliances
Cut down on the use of heating appliances such as hairdryers, styling wands and tongs because these can dry out your hair and cause it to break. If you have to style your hair, smooth some heat protection cream through it first. Split ends love to be treated with a frizz serum or, even better, have your hair trimmed at ZIGZAG Hair Studios.
TIP 4: Dry your hair before going outside
Make sure your hair is completely dry before you go outside into the cold air. The cold air will dry out your hair and make it more likely to break.
Give your hair further protection by hiding it away beneath a hat or scarf. Silk scarves are a brilliant way of protecting your hair and your hairstyle should remain pretty much intact underneath it!
TIP 5: Eat fruit and vegetables
We all know now that we should be eating at least five servings of fruit and vegetables a day for a healthy diet… but did you know that the vitamins in your 5-a-day will also help your hair to become shinier and stronger?
